3rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Regrouping of Independent Advisors
of the Financial Industry of Québec (RICIFQ).
The RICIFQ held its 3rd Annual General Meeting, AGM, at Hotel Mortagne in Boucherville (Quebec) on May 8th. Members were given the opportunity to speak and vote on key issues of 2009-2010 and to elect and appoint new Directors to the RICIFQ Board of Directors.
The outgoing President, Mr. Leo Lemoine, CLU, Fin., presented the main achievements of the RICIFQ for the fiscal year 2008-2009. Manon St-Cyr, B.BA, Vice President of Communications and outgoing Treasurer, gave her report on finances. The RICIFQ Board of Directors appointed three new Directors.
The main focus points of discussion at the AGM were the Compensation Fund Financial Services (FISF), trade practices, the mobilization of a new generation of Independent Financial Advisors, the recruitment of Financial Advisors and a review of membership fees to be a Member in good standing with the RICIFQ. Since recruiting is everybody's business, it will be part of an extensive recruitment campaign over the spring, summer and fall of 2009 to offer more added value benefits to Members. Each Member can contribute to the success of our RICIFQ by striving to meet the challenge to recruit at least one new Member before the next AGM in 2010.
In addition, the new Board of Directors for the RICIFQ held its 1st meeting immediately following the AGM to appoint Directors to various positions. Appointed Chairman: Raymond Pratte, Investment Advisor now presides over the following Members of the Board of Directors: Gaston Boily, B.BA: Vice President Administration, Manon Veilleux, Fin.: Treasurer, Gilles Thouin, Fin.: Secretary, Gilles Drass: Administrator, Daniel La Tour, B.A, B. Ed: Director, Jean-Pierre Vachon, M.B.A, Adm.. A., Fin.: Director and Jean-Guy Gagne: Director.
Chairman, Raymond Pratte, representing savings and investments, invites all RICIFQ Members to mobilize by supporting the RICIFQ. The highest priority has to be the recruitment of new Members to the RICIFQ.
